Kids often see things adults do not. Why?
One of the students said she didn't want that to happen to her teachers.

ROTFLMMFAO!!!!!
Show me a kid who won't take ANY excuse to skip school.
You all want to think that they are doing this "in support" of the teachers in Wisconsin, just keep telling yourself that and you can believe that the political indoctrination is taking hold in the school aged young folks in this country.

I apologize. I didn't realize I was dealing with a Beck fan. Silly me. ;-)

I've never listened to him.
Sorry, but I form my OWN opinions.
Unlike(it appears) most in this country I don't need someone else to tell me what to think.
I'm simply remembering the "activism" that was preached while I was in school, I'm also remembering that we would go along with it(or appear to) to get the chance to skip out early with, basically, the blessings of the teachers and administrators.
You can't tell me that the teachers and administrators aren't co-operating with this, otherwise it wouldn't be happening.
So how is that NOT "political indoctrination"?

Can you prove it? Unless you have someone on tape instructing these kids what to do or what to say, you can't just make baseless accusations. I was a part of a walk out back in my day and I did it because of what I believed in, not what someone else told me.

Everyone needs someone to tell them what to think, sometimes. I prefer to make an informed decision. I prefer to listen to other peoples views and those who are educated in the subject at hand.
So, I admit it I don't know it all and I need others to help me understand. Is that someone telling me what to think? NO! Or, should I just assume I know everything?
This was a planned thing across the nation and all the students left one hour early.
Thanks for the tags!

Well I feel sorry for you if you truly feel that way.
While I MAY ask folks if I responded correctly to something AFTER the fact, I don't ask them how I should respond before I do.

So the teachers and administrators did NOTHING to stop this "walkout"?
What OTHER proof of collusion do you need?

Sorry you think so.
Just WHO told you to think that way about them?

who is them?
You stated that my "arguments" are trite, them is referring to my "arguments".
So WHO told you to think this way this time?

myself and many others.
I don't take the advice of all the others but I used their input to make my decision.
I have already admitted that I don't know everything.
Sorry, I form my own opinions.
This is what I was addressing.
No you don't, you view examples of what others are saying. You read, you learn in school, you learn from magazines, you learn from your parents, you learn from churches and you learn from life's experiences. You even learned something while skipping school. Your whole life is a sum of what you have learned or experienced which helps form your opinions. Your opinions are influenced by many things not just you.
Did you really skip school every chance you got? How old are you I'm 581/2.

I'll be 52 this year.
Yes I did. I STILL hold the "record" at my high school. The assistant principal in charge of attendance couldn't believe it when he finally caught up with me. He then demanded that every teacher I had report to him daily on my attendance. Even that didn't stop me.
The kicker of it all was to see the looks on everyones faces when graduation rolled around and they all found out that I was on the honor roll.
Just because I didn't like school, doesn't mean I couldn't do the work, just that I was bored with the simple stuff that we were given to do.
